Only investors who have sufficient knowledge and experience of investing in qualified investor funds and of the attended risks may invest in QIFs. 

Anyone wishing to become a qualified investor in a QIF , must comply with the obligations under Section 272 of the Investment Companies and Investment Funds Act and must be advised of the risks associated with this type of investment. By law, all investment companies are required to make sure that each investor is sufficiently qualified to participate in investments of this type.
